my sister's favorite spot when she came to visit in july - this multi-space in inner nørrebro developed out of an un-used street corner and contains a sunken basketball court as well as skateboard surfaces. it can be turned into an auditorium with side seating, and on a nearby building they've painted a white screen for cinema-showings.
sohn came to vega and he was amazing. his voice was even better live - crystalline, pure, reverberating, trickling up and down the scale, and the sound behind him was so full, completely overtaking everything. the lights were just as much a part of it, and the smoke, and the whole thing made me want to close my eyes and be alone in the space.
brunch with friends is always a component of a perfect weekend.
one of my favorite cafes made this for me when i began to come down with a cold the other week. matcha and a ginger and apple shot. paired with wired, which i didn't really end up reading as i realized i had gotten to the cafe early to sit down and witness what was the first day of school for many kids in copenhagen. a flurry of bikes, parents with children, and grandparents walking their grandchildren to school. kids skipped by me and said hello to some of the other regulars on the bench, who were starting their morning with coffee and a cigarette. i eavesdropped in on this moment. it was delicious.
